3 Nutritional Habits to Relieve Your Depression Symptoms

Do you wish you had more energy?

Are you looking for a healthy way to grieve and grow?

There are three nutritional habits that you need to start incorporating into your life if you have depression especially after the death of your child.

After my son died, I found myself feeling unhealthy, unmotivated, and in a deep depression. There are three nutritional habits that I incorporated that dramatically helped me. Combine these with eliminating the 3 Lifestyle Habits Contributing to Your Depression Symptoms and you’re really going to start shifting how you feel.

The first is drinking more water. I want you to start thinking of water as life. The more water you’re drinking, the more energy you’re going to have. Not only is it going to hydrate you, but it’s also going to help get rid of some of the toxins in our bodies from the foods we eat and beverages we drink.

The second nutritional habit is to add in a probiotic and/or a prebiotic into your daily supplement routine. This might seem strange to you, but of all the books I’ve read on varying health topics, there is one common theme among them; health starts in the gut!

How your gut is functioning affects nearly every single health challenge that you experience in your life, including mental health challenges. Your gut is known as your second brain. And guess what?? Your gut and brain communicate ALL. THE. TIME. So the better you take care of your gut, the better your mental health is going to be. One of the best ways you can do that is by taking a high quality probiotic and prebiotic.

Lastly, add in an activated B complex. Going full circle with energy. B Vitamins are vital for energy, mood and focus.

B Vitamins are known as our happy vitamins.

This is so important because if you are on any medications they deplete your B vitamins. Especially if you’re taking an antidepressant, but also taking something as “harmless” as an antacid. So if you are taking any medications, you need to increase your commitment to supplementation, and B vitamins is the number one supplement you need to be taking. To receive the benefits they need to be in an activated or methylated form.

The beautiful thing about using holistic and natural ways to relieve your depression symptoms is that everything works synergistically. I highly recommend picking one habit from 3 Lifestyle Habits Contributing to Your Depression Symptoms and one habit from this article to focus on first, then add on from there.

None are quick fixes, but they are long-term sustainable ways to live with more energy, love and vibrancy.

Which two habits are you going to start with?
